An urgent migration had to be done as anti-ddos provider (Neoprotect) of my previous hoster (iHostArt) was ddosed (how ironic) and their CDN (Datapacket/CDN77) deactivated all their BGP sessions, leaving them bankrupt.
While iHostArt is still trying to implement new anti-ddos and failing miserably, rendering their business useless, I was lucky to make the most recent backups while they were still online. On the evening of November 4th, I've successfully migrated my infra to a very reputable Icelandic hoster (1984), getting out of this doomsday catastrophe.
While changing jurisdiction is better for my users (no EU/US regulatory laws apply in Iceland), I could only afford the smaller spec plan with resources I had at the moment. Regarding the situation, I've made a decision to recreate Matrix (Synapse) DB, make it invite-only and hand out a certain number of invite codes as a compensation. The weight of previous Synapse DB was 160GB, which is not normal and indicates my services were highly abused (DB size is very large for number of users I had on my Matrix server).
All other services were migrated with no data loss.
I'm sorry I had to wipe the entire Synapse database, but I do hope you will understand the reason I've made such decision. I don't have enough disk space to store it now and I don't want my services to be abused.
Thank you for your attention.
Stay safe and secure,
